Call for Abstracts: Mini-Symposium in Memory of Prof. Palle Rama Rao at ICF-16
The Indian Structural Integrity Society (InSIS) invites research scholars from Indian institutions to submit abstracts for a Mini-Symposium honouring the late Prof. Palle Rama Rao (1937–2026) during the 16th International Congress on Fracture (ICF-16), scheduled to be held in Melbourne, Australia, in June 2027.
The Mini-Symposium is being organized by Prof. Ashok Saxena, Prof. Raghu Prakash, and Prof. Gopalakrishnan in recognition of Prof. Rama Rao’s outstanding contributions to materials science, fracture mechanics, fatigue, creep, and structural integrity.
Suggested topics include:
- High-temperature mechanical behaviour of materials
- Fracture mechanics, fatigue, fracture resistance, and damage-tolerant design
- Development and fracture characterization of advanced alloys
- Ultra-high-strength, high-fracture-toughness low-alloy steels
- Composite materials and structural systems
- Materials performance, reliability, and life prediction
A select number of contributions are invited from research scholars of Indian institutions.
Abstract Submission: Submit your abstract through the ICF-16 portal.
Submission Coordination: Authors are requested to email a copy of their submitted abstract, along with the abstract submission details, to Prof. Raghu Prakash at raghuprakash@iitm.ac.in to facilitate coordination with the Mini-Symposium organizers.
InSIS encourages its members to circulate this announcement among eligible research scholars and colleagues working in relevant fields.
Let us honour Prof. Palle Rama Rao’s enduring scientific legacy through meaningful research contributions.
