Hearty Congratulations to Dr. Dheepa Srinivasan
Dr. Dheepa Srinivasan, Senior Vice President of the Indian Society for Structural Integrity (InSIS), along with Dr. Shyamsundar, has been awarded the First Prize in the DRDO Dare to Dream 5.0 Nationwide Contest for an innovative project in:
“Non-Destructive Evaluation of Ceramic Matrix Composites”
The award recognises their innovative work in developing an advanced Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) approach for the detection and characterisation of defects in Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs), with relevance to establishing structural integrity and ensuring the reliability of high-temperature components for demanding applications such as gas turbine engines.
The award was presented on 22 May 2026 at DRDO Bhavan, recognising the technological innovation and engineering relevance of the work.
A Significant Achievement in Structural Integrity
The recognition is particularly relevant to the InSIS community, as reliable NDE and defect characterisation are fundamental to the assessment of structural integrity, damage tolerance, life assessment and safe operation of critical engineering components.
The application of advanced NDE technologies to CMCs represents an important contribution towards addressing the challenges associated with high-temperature materials, defect detection, component integrity and life management in advanced aerospace and defence systems.
